You think the Bugatti configuration portal is the end word in online bad taste generation? Pfffft, you haven’t been boat shopping
BTW, this is going be a boat with 30 years of $850/mo payments.
I haven’t even got to the trailer yet.

At first glance I thought this was a color coded chart based on materials or temperature or UV resistance. Nope, it’s actually those colors.

How do people justify a new boat purchase in their heads? I can’t even fathom making enough money that buying a $200k boat is an option.

I’m down for a Harlequin boat paint job. notbad.tiff

Wait, are those engine option numbers real? The 2 bottom engines both say “selected 0.0% of the time”

Financing for boats is crazy! They’ll let you string it out 20 years if you want. My buddy bought a brand new boat (30k ish I think) a few years ago and financed it for 12 years.

I guess they aren’t popular. I would opt for the big block over the 6.1 liter on account of the 522 hp and the 87 octane requirement. Then again, there is such a thing as too much power. I drove a boat with that engine and it would cav badly if you gunned it from a standstill.

Harlequin VW owners will think this is great.

I kind of love it...The orange is a little much. I think I’d rather have all of the interior orange bits matched to the grey on the back of the boat, but the rest, I’m all in!

Whoa. I got all the way to picking my trailer (lime green of course), and what appeared to be the tackiest 20's I’ve ever seen for the wheels, but crashed before I got to see the price of the monstrosity I created.

sad story? They wont tell you the price.

30 years. I was working the boat show a few years ago and they were doing 30 year loans.

Damn haha, I guess if its a “house boat” that kind of makes sense. Although I’m sure they’d let you do it on anything.

$850/mo...
...and if you want to actually USE it, double that to allow for fuel. How do people afford boats?

Some VW exec might get one and call it the Harlequin edition...

This was specifically on ski boats.

no idea. Mostly they don’t. Repo rates are HIGH on boats.

That want how the hell much for a fucking wake boarding boat? That’s insanity! That totals up to $288k!
There is a whole lot of other boats I’d buy before a 288k wake boarding boat. That’s all this is right? Is there anything insanely special about it that a good used boat for $30k can’t do?
![]() 07/11/2017 at 16:32 |

Well its the 30 year loan total on a $165k boat. But yeah, its gotten WAAAAAAY out of hand. Its fiberglass, vinyl, foam and pushrod v8's. I have no idea how they are demanding what they are.
![]() 07/11/2017 at 16:34 |

Our boat was in fact a repo...but hey I have a basically brand new engine in it because of that

Blows my mind, my cousin has a 28ft Powerquest with a 502 V8 in it, so while it won’t kick out a wake, it’s a bigger boat with huge power that cost like a fifth of this one.
Boats depreciate like boats, I guess.

Hah wow, that’s like letting people finance a hellcat for 30 years
![]() 07/11/2017 at 16:51 |

Isn’t it common knowledge that a better use of that money would be to literally throw it into the lake you’d be launching a boat into?

What I want to know is, who in their right mind will buy one of these things second hand in 10 years for like, three times what a 10 year old wake boat is worth today. With tons of outdated technology that may or may not even work in 10 years. I’m never selling my ‘03 Nautique.

You have to be kidding with the term.

Financing even on used boats is crazy. I bought a used Ski Nautique while in college. They let a college kid with no steady job or credit history finance a used boat for 12 years. The interest rate wasn’t even that bad, <4% IIRC.

Haha! My roomates and I financed a dirt bike in college after we moved off campus. Our parents were thrilled when they found out lol.
